This is where you come in. Below, you’ll find what this role is all about—the impact you’ll drive, the challenges you’ll tackle, and what it takes to thrive at Addi. If you’re ready to be part of something big, keep reading.

What’s the mission you’ll drive

Build and maintain a reliable, scalable data platform, including its underlying infrastructure, that ensures the robustness of our data. This role will own the ingestion and transformation pipelines, delivering resilient systems to production that provide the foundational data for all of Addi's analytical capabilities and critical business operations, and will play a key role in the implementation of the Customer Experience (CX) Platform from a data perspective.

What you will do

  • Own and deliver robust data pipelines: Within the first 90 days, successfully take ownership of key ingestion and transformation pipelines, ensuring their stability, performance, and scalability in production.

  • Contribute to platform reliability: Proactively identify and address potential data quality issues, performance bottlenecks, and system vulnerabilities, participating actively in code reviews and contributing to the overall architectural design of our data platform within the first six months.

  • Support critical business operations: Within the first six months, ensure data freshness and availability for at least three critical business operations, minimizing downtime and data discrepancies.

  • Drive data platform enhancements: Lead at least one initiative within the first year to improve the efficiency, cost-effectiveness, or functionality of our data platform (e.g., implementing new tools, optimizing existing processes, improving monitoring capabilities), demonstrating a proactive approach to continuous improvement.

  • Participate in on-call rotations: Actively participate in on-call rotations for critical data pipelines, providing timely resolution to incidents and contributing to the creation and improvement of runbooks and alert systems from day one.

What we’re looking for

  • Technical Proficiency

    • Strong command of Python for building, optimizing, and maintaining data pipelines, with proven experience in libraries essential for data engineering

    • Deep expertise in SQL for complex data manipulation, querying, optimization, and defining data schemas.

    • Hands-on experience with Apache Spark (PySpark or Scala Spark) for large-scale distributed data processing, including optimizing Spark jobs and working with Spark environments.

    • Proven experience designing, developing, and managing data workflows using Apache Airflow or similar orchestration tools.

    • At least 2 years of proven experience designing, implementing, and maintaining production-grade data pipelines that are robust, scalable, and highly available.

    • Experience with data warehousing (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks).

  • Ownership capabilities

    • Demonstrates accountability by taking the initiative to solve problems and ensure data pipelines are resilient and production-ready.

    • Shows a proactive and eager approach, paying close attention to detail to ensure the quality and reliability of the data platform.

    • Acts as a responsible steward of the data platform, providing good support and help to colleagues who depend on it.

  • Communication & Collaboration

    • Ability to clearly and concisely communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

    • Works seamlessly with cross-functional teams, including Data Scientists, Data Analysts, Product, and other Engineering teams, prioritizing collective success.

    • Proficient in English for effective communication within our multicultural environment.

  • Business Acumen

    • Adept at prioritizing tasks and managing expectations in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

    • Demonstrated ability to understand complex business needs and translate them into efficient and scalable technical solutions for data pipelines.

  • Nice-to-Haves

    • Experience with streaming services (e.g., Spark Structured Streaming, Apache Flink, Databricks DLT).

    • Familiarity with Kafka or other message queuing systems.

    • Understanding of data governance principles and best practices.

    • Exposure to real-time data processing architectures.
