Are you a skilled and experienced Senior Accountant looking for a new challenge in a dynamic and innovative environment? Affect Therapeutics is seeking a talented individual to join our Finance and Accounting department. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our month-end processes, ensuring accurate financial records, and contributing to the overall success of our organization as we expand our services into new states and our business increases with complexity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support month-end processes in coordination with RCM staff, including analyzing accounts receivable and revenue accounts, classifying deposits, and reconciling billing reports to AR records.
  • Reconcile AR aging to the ledger and prepare AR allowance journal entries.
  • Process vendor payables, including classifying invoices, routing for approval, and generating payments.
  • Assist in collections efforts on accounts receivable, reviewing claims denials, and researching corrective actions to address and resolve issues.
  • Review Expensify and corporate credit card transactions to ensure timely processing and correct classification of expenses. Prepare accrual journal entries as needed.
  • Reconcile prepaid expenses to amortization schedules, analyze accrual balances, and reconcile to the ledger.
  • Prepare daily and weekly cash reporting, including projecting cash needs and collections activities.
  • Reconcile contingency management payouts to internal reports and record associated bank transactions in the accounting system.
  • Provide support during tax preparation, financial audits, and other due diligence activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; professional credentials (CPA or similar) desired.
  • A minimum of five years of professional experience in full cycle accounting.
  • Experience in the start-up and/or medical industry is preferable.
  • Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial accounting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.

Working Conditions: The position of Senior Accountant is remote, allowing you to connect with management, team members, and others via Slack, email, and Google Meetings. You will have the autonomy to self-manage multiple priorities in support of department and corporate objectives.
