Affect is the pioneer of an evidence-based digital recovery program for stimulant, alcohol and cannabis use. We combine technology, behavioral support, and medical care to help our members overcome substance addictions, providing virtual support and empowerment.

Job Description:

Affect’s PMHNP oversees our member care with the support of the member services team, which consists of counselors and member advocates. Providers work on a part-time basis to deliver evidence-based stimulant, alcohol and cannabis use disorder treatments. We require all of our providers to be enrolled in Medicaid.

Medical providers may be psychiatrists or psychiatric nurse practitioners depending on geographical needs and state scope of practice laws. Affect does not prescribe controlled substances, and the decision of whether prescription medication is appropriate is at the discretion of the medical provider.

This is a remote position. You must have an active and unrestricted license in the state for which you are being hired.

Affect providers are compensated for unattended appointments

Responsibilities:

Evaluate members' needs through telehealth initial evaluations
Conduct monthly telehealth appointments to assess progress
Prescribe medication when necessary and answer member questions
Complete all notes and reporting in the Affect EHR system within the required timeline
Utilize Affect's policies and protocols for clinical decision-making
Maintain active State License/DEA and active Board Certification
Attend Affect internal company and/or team meetings as needed

Requirements:

Active state medical license(s) to practice within the state being contracted for
Medicaid enrolled within the state being contracted for
Minimum 2 years of experience as a licensed medical provider, experience in substance use disorder field preferred
Willingness to apply for multi-state licensure (Affect covers licensing fees)
Empathy when working with members
High comfort level with technology, including EHR software, email, instant messaging, and mobile apps
Ability to make high-quality clinical decisions aligned with Affect Therapeutics' policies
Commitment to a high ethical standard
