AOA Dx is developing the next frontier in early-stage cancer detection through its pioneering work in glycolipids and proprietary biomarker technology. Our revolutionary tumor marker ganglioside platform, GlycoLocate™, is paving the way for life-saving early cancer detection. In a first of its kind, AOA Dx is developing AKRIVIS GD™, an early-stage liquid biopsy test for ovarian cancer.

We are seeking a talented and experienced Research Associate, Mass Spectrometry with a Master's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field. In this position, you will be responsible for running, troubleshooting, and performing high throughput lipidomics experiments on our state-of-the-art HPLC-MS instrument(s). This role requires a deep understanding of mass spectrometry, Thermo Scientific Mass Spectrometers, and hands-on instrumentation experience in a mass spectrometry-focused lab environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate, maintain and optimize HPLC-MS instruments with precision and accuracy.
  • Prepare and extract samples for analysis, ensuring high-quality results.
  • Troubleshoot instrument issues, calibrate instrumentation and perform routine maintenance.
  • Design and execute experiments involving sample analysis using mass spectrometry techniques.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide analytical support and data interpretation.
  • Maintain accurate records of experiments and results.
  • Contribute to the development and optimization of analytical methods.
  • Stay current with emerging trends and advancements in mass spectrometry technology.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of hands-on experience operating and maintaining an LC-MS system and running high throughput -omics experiments (lipidomics, metabolomics or proteomics)
  • Knowledge of biological sample preparation and extraction techniques for downstream LC-MS analysis
  • 5+ years' of general laboratory experience.
  • 2+ years' experience in biotech or pharma industry is preferred
  • Proficiency in HPLC-MS operation and troubleshooting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain precise records.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.

The salary range for this position is $70,000 to $85,000 per year, which factors in various geographic regions. The actual compensation and seniority level for this position will be determined based on relevant experience and qualifications.
