What you’ll do
- Apply expert level knowledge of harness routing and installation to collaborate and influence our multidisciplinary Product Design Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing and Facilities teams in the development of a new eVTOL aircraft
- Verify wire harness routing and installation to models in 3D CAD
- Use your knowledge of industry standard components to develop the manufacturing Build Plan (line layout, manufacturing methods, part flow, tools, equipment, precedence network, testing processes, etc.)
- Drive the Design for Manufacturability efforts with the product design team
- Provide installation instructions and guidance for the assembly and integration of the harnesses and associated subcomponents into the Aircraft
- Create and apply inspection criteria for the manufactured and installed components
- Willingness to look for alternative solutions and come up with custom parts to improve installation
- Planning of workflow, workflow utilization, layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency
- Design of jigs and fixtures to aid the manufacturing processes for electrical components.
- Troubleshooting of electrical systems and wire harnesses
- Implement process control parameters and strategies to ensure process capability
- Develop specification for tooling and automation equipment
- Oversee Final Acceptance Testing of manufacturing equipment
- Conduct process failure mode and analysis (PFMEA) for the production system
- Support supply chain development and procurement
- Support first unit builds and testing of the production system
What you’ll need
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering or related field; degree may not be required with enough applicable experience.
- 4-7 years of experience in the manufacture of aircraft wiring and electrical components
- Hands on experience in the processes involved in fabricating, installing, inspecting, and testing aerospace harnesses
- Understanding of design for manufacturing, lean manufacturing, and capacity planning techniques
- Knowledge base should include familiarity with crimping, cable layup, shielding, taping, heat shrink, pinning/depinning connectors, and cable rework and repair techniques
Bonus Qualifications
- The ideal person would be willing to move to Atlanta, GA when our new facility is built within 1-2 years.
- Experience in the use, setup and deployment of automated harness testing equipment (DITMCO, CIRRIS)
- IPC-620-WHMA certification or detailed knowledge of MIL-HDBK-522, NAVAIR TM 1-1500-323-24-1
- Knowledge of Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems (EWIS) concepts, certification and experience with FAA AC 25.1701
- Siemens NX or Mentor Graphics formboard experience
- Teamcenter, Manufacturing Process Planner, Easy Plan, and SAP PEO experience
- 3D printing and/or injection molding experience
- Demonstrated experience in statistical process control and GD&T
- Experience developing production lines from prototype to mass production

We drive a pay-for-performance culture and reward performance that supports the Company’s business strategy. For this position we are targeting a base pay between $108,00-$160,000. Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
