Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. What You’ll Do

Lead the development of the high-volume Electric Motor and Inverter production system, including the overall layout of the production cells and new manufacturing facility.
Drive the Design for Manufacturability efforts with the product design team.
Apply expert level knowledge of electric motors, inverters and manufacturing process to collaborate and influence our multidisciplinary Product Design Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing and Facilities teams in the development of a new Electric Motor and Inverter for an eVTOL aircraft.
Develop the manufacturing Build Plan (line layout, manufacturing methods, part flow, tools, equipment, precedence network, etc.) and determine an appropriate MBOM.
Implement process control parameters and strategies to ensure process capability.
Develop efficient manufacturing processes.
Support first unit builds and testing of the production system.

What You Need:

Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field with any occupational title in which 4 years of experience in electromechanical, aerospace and mass production, including experience with determining optimal manufacturing and material solutions for electric engines; performing D-FMEA and P-FMEA analysis on electric motor designs, planning of mid to high volume electric motor production lines; leading the procurement of production equipment; mentoring Junior engineers and production team was gained.

Associates degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field with any occupational title in which 8 years of experience in electromechanical, aerospace and mass production, including experience with determining optimal manufacturing and material solutions for electric engines; performing D-FMEA and P-FMEA analysis on electric motor designs, planning of mid to high volume electric motor production lines; leading the procurement of production equipment; mentoring Junior engineers and production team was gained.
