Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. We are designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers for 60 miles at speeds of up to 150 mph while producing minimal noise.

What you’ll do:

  • Following aircraft assembly & integration, you will:
    • Provide support to the technicians performing functional tests and help them with any system troubleshooting required ensuring aircraft systems operate as designed
    • Support SIL lab line replaceable unit testing and development of regression tests
    • Assist with configuration control
    • Test readiness for system and software integration activities
    • Support aircraft flight test and aircraft/system qualification and certification.
      • Systems will include avionics, electrical, low voltage, and high voltage.
    • Examples of functional tests include exterior lighting, interior lighting, VHF communication, navigation, transponder, multi-function displays, etc.
    • Work with the engineering system owners to develop, validate, and approve functional test plans.

What you need:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering , Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Software, Systems Engineering - or similar discipline
  • 4+ years as an avionics or electrical systems engineer
  • Familiarity with aerospace design and verification processes to include; requirements development, functions development, validation and verification for detailed design
  • Strong knowledge of how aircraft systems interface with each other, capability, communication, and connectivity.
  • Must have the ability to communicate efficiently and effectively to support systems troubleshooting and performance validation
  • Experience reading and interpreting system architecture and wiring diagrams
  • Experience with model based definition
  • Aerospace production shop floor experience

Location

  • This role will move to Covington, Georgia in 2024 to support launching our high volume manufacturing facility

We drive a pay-for-performance culture and reward performance that supports the Company’s business strategy. For this position we are targeting a base pay between $108,000-$140,000. Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
