Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. We are designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers for 100 miles at speeds of up to 150 mph while producing minimal noise.

What you’ll do:

  • Work closely with the engineering teams to support equipment bring-up and process validation
  • Support installation, commissioning, and qualification of new equipment and tooling with integrators
  • Develop and document preventative maintenance plans
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on industrial automation and equipment
  • Troubleshoot equipment and processes
  • Procure, install, organize, and maintain spare parts and equipment
  • Design and build basic lab fixtures, tools, and electrical panels
  • Operate machine shop equipment to create simple components and fixtures
  • Mentor other technicians

What you need:

  • Associate’s Degree, or equivalent
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Maintenance, Controls Technician working on automation and/or electromechanical systems
  • Knowledge of Electrical Standards (NFPA79, NEC, UL508A)
  • Knowledge of Safety Standards (ANSI/RIA15.06, OSHA)
  • Demonstrated understanding of industrial communication protocols
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed mechanical assembly drawings and accurately measure and inspect tolerances
  • Knowledge of multiple robotic systems for programming, teaching, control system repairs (Fanuc preferred)
  • Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems (control systems, hydraulic power systems and lubrication systems)
  • Familiarity with programming cyclic execution devices such PLCs (Allen-Bradley preferred)
  • Experience integrating/setting up/using a wide variety of industrial equipment such as dispense systems, torque tools, power transducers, etc.
  • Excellent logical-thinking
  • Self-driven / hands on attitude
  • High quality workmanship standards
  • Experience following all aspects of maintenance safety protocol (LOTO, 5S, Arc Flash, etc.).

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Direct experience building and testing high voltage battery modules and / or packs
  • NFPA 70E certification
  • RIA certifications (certified vision professional, certified motion control professional)
  • Basic CAD design experience (i.e. NX, Catia, Solidworks)
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time

Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
