Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. We are designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers while producing minimal noise.

What you’ll do:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all technical and programmatic aspects of assigned composite assembly programs.
  • Own the program schedule, scope, and cost performance; develop detailed project plans and track milestones.
  • Lead cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality to ensure program objectives are met.
  • Provide technical direction and program oversight from design through delivery of composite assemblies.
  • Manage program risks, issues, and changes, and communicate program status to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure technical solutions meet customer and regulatory requirements, while balancing cost and manufacturability.
  • Drive continuous improvement in processes, execution, and cross-team collaboration.

What you need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Science, Industrial Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in composite manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a program or technical leadership role.
  • Strong technical understanding of composite materials, fabrication methods (layup, bonding, autoclave/oven curing), and structural design principles.
  • Demonstrated success in managing program schedules, technical scope, and cross-disciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Experience with program management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheets, Jira) and standard office applications.
  • Expertise in advanced manufacturing tools (CAD, PLM, MES)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills to set direction and mentor a diverse engineering team.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-iteration environment, balancing big-picture program goals with hands-on, real-time build solutions.

We drive a pay-for-performance culture and reward performance that supports the Company’s business strategy. For this position we are targeting a base pay between $150,000 - $185,000. Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
