What We’re Looking For
We’re hiring a Senior Robotics Technician on the Manufacturing Team to own day-to-day fleet readiness and help build, maintain, and troubleshoot our inspection robots. You’ll keep robots, modules, and spares accounted for, manage Manufacturing support tickets, and ensure equipment is ready to deploy.
You know the fundamentals, like torque specs and good wiring practice, and you're equally comfortable with a hex driver, a soldering iron, and a schematic. You take pride in precise, organized work, and it shows in your builds, your records, and your bench. You know what has to happen first and keep everyone in the loop as plans change. When documentation leaves a gap, you use sound technical judgment, involve Engineering when needed, and help turn the solution into a repeatable procedure.
You're a quick learner who enjoys sharing knowledge with the team and picking up new skills. You'll jump in wherever you're needed, you're tech-savvy, and you're the kind of teammate engineers, technicians, and customers trust.
Core Responsibilities
- Own fleet readiness, including equipment status, location, configuration, spares, calibration, and preventive maintenance.
- Manage the Manufacturing support queue: prioritize issues, troubleshoot failures, coordinate escalations, and document resolution.
- Perform pre- and post-job inspections and verify robots are ready to deploy.
- Build robots, modules, and perform upgrades from drawings, schematics, work instructions, and BOMs, including precision mechanical assembly, wiring harness fabrication, and PCBA installation.
- Load firmware, calibrate systems, and perform acceptance testing; troubleshoot failures with Engineering.
- Identify recurring problems, implement corrective actions, and improve work instructions and inspection procedures.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on technician experience with complex electromechanical equipment in robotics, aerospace, automation, medical devices, or a similar environment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical assembly skills, including precision fastening, crimping, soldering, wiring harnesses, and PCBA handling.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, BOMs, schematics, and work instructions and troubleshoot using diagnostic tools and controlled testing.
- Comfortable using software-based testing and diagnostic tools to run automated scripts, remotely access equipment, and interpret live data to verify robot health and build quality.
- Experience maintaining equipment and accurate service, calibration, inventory, or preventive-maintenance records.
- Ability to prioritize work independently, document results, and communicate clearly with Engineering and Operations.
- Proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook, and ticketing and documentation tools like Jira.
- Ability to work on your feet and safely lift and move up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with robotics, drones, remotely operated vehicles, or industrial automation.
- Experience with quality systems, non-conformance, and corrective actions.
- Experience using Linux and command-line tools to run Bash and automated test scripts.
