Location: Flexible (Remote or Hybrid - Kansas City / NYC preferred)
Reports To: CEO
Stage: Pre-Seed / Early Growth
Company: Convoy Health
About Convoy
Convoy is building the “AI-powered CFO” for medical groups. We help physicians and practice leaders make faster, smarter financial decisions starting with benchmarking, vendor intelligence, and practice valuation tools. Backed by AlleyCorp and led by experienced healthcare executives, we’re launching with early adopters and building foundational infrastructure to scale into a new category of financial operating systems for independent providers.
Role Overview
We’re looking for a highly driven, analytically sharp, and strategically-minded Chief of Staff to work alongside the CEO to drive product-market fit, company operations, and execution. This role is ideal for a recent graduate of a top-tier MBA program who is looking to fast-track into a COO or general management role within a high-growth startup.
You’ll be at the center of company operations, product strategy, early customer development, and executive decision-making. This is not a passive role, we want a builder, a doer, and a strategic operator who thrives in ambiguity and is excited to help scale a venture from zero to one.
Key Responsibilities
Product-Market Fit & Execution
- Partner with the CEO and CPO to drive customer discovery, user research, and product iteration.
- Define and prioritize features, validate use cases, and track user engagement to refine Convoy’s early wedge products.
- Synthesize insights from product, sales, and operations to inform roadmap decisions.
Strategic Operations & GTM
- Own special projects that sit at the intersection of product, growth, and operations (e.g., go-to-market experiments, pricing tests, investor materials).
- Develop KPI dashboards and track progress across product, customer, and financial metrics.
- Help manage day-to-day execution rhythms (standups, OKRs, investor updates, weekly priorities).
CEO Leverage
- Act as a thought partner to the CEO, participating in investor meetings, partner calls, and strategic planning sessions.
- Draft and refine communications, pitches, and updates for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure follow-through on top priorities and act as a multiplier on CEO capacity.
Ideal Background & Experience
- Top-tier MBA or graduate program (e.g., HBS, GSB, Wharton, Kellogg, MIT Sloan, etc.)
- 4–7 years total experience in consulting, investing, startups, or healthcare/fintech operating roles
- Some exposure to: a) Technical fluency (basic understanding of APIs, data workflows, coding logic—no need to code, but ability to communicate with engineers); b) Product design or UX thinking; c) B2B SaaS or healthtech business models
- Experience working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments; strong bias for action
- Excellent writing, storytelling, and communication skills
Key Traits
- Relentlessly curious and hands-on
- Systems thinker with operational discipline
- Clear communicator and structured thinker
- Not afraid to get into the weeds to get things done
- High integrity and strong judgment under pressure
- Ambitious but humble, wants to help build a generational business
Career Path
This role is designed as a launchpad to a future COO, GM, or founder role. You’ll gain exposure to all aspects of company building, develop real operating muscle, and work alongside experienced executives and investors.
