Business Insider is hiring an Associate Director of Content, BI Studios, to join our Global Marketing and Studios team to pitch, develop, and produce engaging, multi-platform content campaigns for our growing list of Fortune 500 clients.

The Role & Team:

BI Studios, our award-winning branded content team, has been trusted by more than 300 brands for its people-first storytelling.

As an Associate Director, you’ll lead creative across the full campaign lifecycle, from pre-sale RFP and RFI ideation and custom program development to post-sale execution, overseeing the writing, production, and creative strategy behind articles, videos, interactive experiences, and more. This is a hands-on role where you’ll roll up your sleeves and dive in, from managing freelancers to writing articles and scripts yourself.

The Associate Director is an individual contributor (IC) role that reports to the Director of Content and sits on the Global Marketing & Studios team within Business Insider's Advertising org. This position is based in our New York City HQ with an in-office presence of at least 2 days per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop insight-driven branded content ideas and be able to bring them to life — from initial pitch through to publication
  • Create compelling content that simplifies complex topics for B2B and B2C clients through a variety of written, social, video, and interactive formats
  • Work in partnership with our Marketing Solutions team to create polished sales presentations in response to RFPs and RFIs
  • Own the ideation and development of custom content, ensuring that your ideas and produced content are aligned with both Business Insider’s voice and our client’s goals/objectives
  • Manage a network of freelancers to help execute campaigns as needed
  • Solve for creative problems as they arise, working cross-functionally with sales, media planning, and marketing solutions teams (in pre-sales) and project managers, designers, and video producers (in post-sales)
  • Travel as-needed for content production purposes (e.g., video shoots, on-location interviews, etc.)

The Ideal Candidate Has:

  • Excellent creative and persuasive writing/editing skills
  • Experience with professional writing and campaign development at a creative agency or digital publication — must have a portfolio of award-worthy content in a variety of formats (articles, videos, interactive content, etc.)
  • Experience managing/working with freelance writers and video production teams — having an existing network of creative talent is a plus
  • Equal parts left- and right-brain skills — can come up with outside-the-box ideas while also being organized and strategic
  • Strong presentation skills — able to come up with an idea as easily as you can pitch it to clients and/or internal stakeholders
  • Excellent time management skills — able to manage multiple stakeholders, prioritize competing deliverables to meet deadlines, and actively follow up on pending projects
  • Experience and/or interest in working with emerging and experimental platforms and formats to create groundbreaking work

Salary & Benefits:

  • Salary: $120,000 - $130,000 (dependent on skills, experience, and competencies)
