About the role: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee our accounting operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. The ideal candidate will be autonomous, driven, efficient, eager to be involved in all areas of accounting & possess strong leadership skills. Furthermore, the candidate will implement efficient accounting processes, prepare financial reports, and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements to ultimately support audit readiness.

You will have the opportunity to join the finance department of a SaaS company in an exciting growth phase with many opportunities to learn & grow. You will will work closely with the Controller and SVP of Finance in the continued integration and customization of the accounting system, polices & procedures. The right person for this role is someone who isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and dive into the accounting functions of an early-stage, high-growth startup. The individual will use their knowledge and understanding of the day-to-day accounting functions to advise management and drive growth of the company.

What you will do:
  • Responsible for timely & accurate Monthly & Quarterly close processes including, but not limited to Deferred Revenue, Deferred Commissions, Prepaid Expenses, Credit Card Transaction Import & Reconciliation, Cash Reconciliation, Fixed Asset Reconciliation, Variance Analysis, etc.
  • Oversee daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations
  • Manage and mentor accounting staff; assign tasks and monitor performance
  • Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Develop & maintain internal controls to support the integrity of financial reporting
  • Coordinate external audits (Financial, Workers Comp, 401K, etc.) by working closely with outside departments and auditors
  • Implement/document new accounting systems or processes as needed to improve efficiency
  • Support various payroll functions including, but not limited to semi-monthly payroll administration, payroll journal entries/imports & subsequent reconciliation of payroll accounts, state registrations/compliance, etc.
  • Support in customer onboarding, customer invoicing, contract analysis, sales tax compliance and appropriate revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606
  • Support in vendor onboarding/management, purchase order management & vendor bill entry, bi-monthly disbursements and annual 1099 administration
  • Responsible for annual state registration & business license renewals & other related state compliance tasks
  • Responsible for reviewing/approving T&E transactions in according with company policy
  • Responsible for identifying quarterly projects with deadlines, completing ad-hoc assignments, and any additional daily tasks as business needs require
  • Support as needed with the following:
    • Accounting email/inbox review/management
    • Vendor bill entry
    • Purchase Order entry
    • Daily cash transaction entry
    • Annual Financial Audit
    • Annual state registrations, business license renewals and other related compliance tasks
    • Purchase Order Review/Management
    • T&E Policy enforcement and Management
    • Annual 1099 Administration
What you bring:
  • B.S. in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA license required (active and in good standing)
  • 5+ years accounting experience.
  • Strong technical accounting background (GAAP, ASC 606)
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.
  • Experience with NetSuite& Navan preferred Excellent analytical, organizational & communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
  • Self-starter and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment/team
  • Strong organization skills.

  • Proficient in Excel

Compensation:
Base Salary Range: $93,000 - $150,000 USD (depending on experience and location)
Variable Compensation: Performance-based annual bonus
Equity: Stock options included as part of total compensation package

Work Environment, Location and Travel:

This is a remote-first role open to candidates legally authorized to work in the United States. Employees may optionally work from our Arlington, VA HQ. This position may require up to minimal travel.
