MongoDB continues to grow incredibly fast. We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Sales Commissions Accounting Manager to play a key role within MongoDB’s Sales Compensation team. This is the perfect opportunity to roll up your sleeves and have a positive impact at a hyper-growth company. In this high impact role, you will work closely with executives and internal functions including Sales, Sales Operations, Sales Analytics, Deal Desk, Business Systems, Finance and Accounting, and HR to improve and establish processes and systems for our next stage of growth. This will be a very hands-on role, reporting to the Director, Sales Compensation, and will help support the build out and ongoing administration of our sales incentive programs while overseeing the sales commission calculation and payout process.

The Impact You Will Have:

  • Own MongoDB commission accounting and facilitates the monthly close process for our domestic and international entities. This includes close coordination as well as recording and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations and fluctuation analysis
  • Manager a team of 2 direct reports
  • Lead actuals to budget reconciliations and act as point of contact with FP&A team
  • Work closely with Sales Operations, FP&A and Commissions Manager to evaluate new compensation plan changes and assess accounting impact and operational feasibility
  • Manage increased complexity of commissions accounting due to changes in accounting guidance
  • Dedicated subject matter expert of MongoDB’s Capitalized Commission Process
  • Own commission SOX controls and liaise with internal and external auditors, enforce and help to refine our commissions accounting policies under US GAAP including Technical Accounting Memos
  • Drive continuous improvements to the close process through automation and rethinking legacy processes, maintain and draft process documents
  • Assist with system integration activities, which includes implementing a variety of finance and accounting solutions (Xactly CEA Accrual, Xactly Incent, NetSuite, etc)

Experience and Skills:

  • 5+ years of professional accounting experience
  • CPA required
  • 1 to 2 years of people management experience
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, ASC 606 & SOX
  • Business systems knowledge such as Xactly, NetSuite and Floqast highly preferred
  • Knowledgeable of internal controls over financial reporting and ability to implement controls to mitigate business risks
  • Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to collaborate across multiple departments
  • Experience in scaling processes from ground up to a highly optimized state
  • Sensitive to deadlines and able to prioritize multiple projects and responsibilities
  • Working knowledge of incentive plan structures (quotas, accelerators, pay mix, and on-target earnings) and systems
  • Ability to work in a multifaceted and fast growth environment with changing priorities (Being a great teammate)

MongoDB’s base salary range for this role is posted below. Compensation at the time of offer is unique to each candidate and based on a variety of factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of MongoDB’s total compensation and benefits package. Other benefits for eligible employees may include: equity, participation in the employee stock purchase program, flexible paid time off, 20 weeks fully-paid gender-neutral parental leave, fertility and adoption assistance, 401(k) plan, mental health counseling, access to transgender-inclusive health insurance coverage, and health benefits offerings. MongoDB’s base salary range for this role in the U.S. is:
$90,000$176,000 USD
