We are looking for an Accounting Operations Manager to play a key role in the digital transformation of the Finance Organization. This position has two key responsibilities 1) individual contributor work focusing on project/program management and 2) overseeing day-to-day operations of our India Accounting Ops team.

  1. As an internally focused "Project/Program Manager" and part of the Accounting Operations team, this role works closely with accounting and cross-functional stakeholders, TechOps, and third party teams to optimize systems and processes that drive the company. Many of the projects focus on new finance system rollouts, process improvements, and automation initiatives.
  2. As a people manager and leader, this role will have 2+ direct reports. This role is expected to engage, monitor, and develop their team of “project managers”. The Accounting Operations Manager will be responsible for the success and growth of their team.

This role should be comfortable with ambiguity and can "connect the dots" using their experience and expertise to build process solutions. This role will have high visibility into multiple parts of the organization, including but not limited to Accounting, Finance, Deal Desk, Legal, Professional Services, and TechOps and work on operational initiatives that will have a direct impact on the company's strategic goals.

The right candidate will have:

  • 10+ years of experience in Project/Program Management, focusing on Finance Technology
  • A proven track record of bringing about process improvements to enterprise-wide business initiatives
  • Demonstrated experience in the full project and program management lifecycle: roadmapping, prioritization, requirement gathering, documentation, cross-functional development work, UAT, change management, and retrospectives
  • Ability to manage varied, and at times conflicting, stakeholder needs and requirements for new initiatives
  • Ability to recognize patterns across internal requirements and leverage them to provide solutions with maximal impact
  • Experience with developing best-in-class business processes to optimize use of enterprise SaaS solutions including but not limited to Netsuite, Salesforce, FinancialForce, Graphite, Coupa, and Xactly
  • Intrinsic drive to lead others to achieve a goal
  • Direct people leadership experience
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Knowledge of internal controls and compliance requirements
  • Experience working in a complex enterprise SaaS sales company (Plus)
  • Experience using SmartSheet tool for project/program management
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration
    • PMP Certification or similar certifications (Required)
    • Lean Six Sigma (Plus)
    • Chartered Accountant (Plus)


Position Responsibilities

  • Serve as the single point of contact on behalf of Accounting Operations for large cross-functional projects/programs.
    • Act as Program or Project Manager for cross-functional initiatives
    • Define project purpose, scope, and feasibility
    • Document business requirements into user/functional requirements used by internal and external resource teams
    • Create documentation including: project charters, product descriptions, project schedule, budget, policies, procedures, workflows, user guides, etc
    • Track, review, and regulate the progress and performance of projects
    • Finalize project activities and document reflections/retrospectives
  • Stay up-to-date on new concepts and emerging technologies in the Finance Transformation space
  • Ability to create positive relationships and influence internal and external customers
  • Effectively train and manage direct reports, including assignment of projects and path of escalation
  • Responsible for performance and growth reviews for direct reports
  • Allocate projects and resources to your direct reports
