Full customer lifecycle support is one of the most critical aspects of our business and PreSales roles have gotten more complicated as MongoDB has shifted to a multi product company. To continue to efficiently grow our consumption business, we need to be understand and address where customers get stuck through the product but also through our talented customer facing teams.

The role will be focused on optimizing the sales led customer journey as the customer evaluates our solutions and begins to build their apps on our platform. This position will uniquely offer the opportunity to assist in duplicating the incredible success of MongoDB Atlas to other parts of the Developer Data Platform, specifically Atlas Search and Atlas Vector Search. It will require working cross-functionally to build scalable and repeatable handoff processes within the Technical Presales organization (Solutions Architecture).

We’re looking for someone that can think holistically across teams, products and customer development cycles, and understand the customer value proposition in order to work closely across our go to market roles.

Responsibilities include:

  • Identify and facilitate the work to accelerate how customers evaluate our solution through demos, guidance in getting started, building technical champions and the handoff to onboarding
  • Work cross functionally with Sales, Customer Success and Professional Services to develop processes that support customers rapidly adopting Search and Vector Search
  • Articulate trends and insights from working with the field teams as well as the customers and surface them to the Product and other GTM teams to inform our roadmaps
  • Become a subject matter expert in Search, Vector Search and GenAI Go to Market to build the enablement content that will be used to train the field
  • Embody MongoDB’s core values in our interactions with internal teams and customers

As an ideal candidate, you will have

  • 3-5 years experience in technical presales covering a highly technical product; strong technical background required
  • Familiarity with search technologies (Lucene, Elastic, Solr, OpenSearch, Algolia,, or similar)
  • Knowledge of LLMs, embedding models, RAG architectures, and the emerging AI tech stack
  • Experience building and facilitating enablement programs
  • Has played a key role in transformational programs within their organization
  • Ability to ideate, design and execute a plan with cross functional partners
  • Can communicate in a clear and concise manner
  • Ability to build strong cross functional partnerships across the company
  • Experience analyzing data and charts to mine for actionable insights
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills

You may also have

  • Experience in database technologies, such as ability to write SQL or MongoDB Query Language
  • Experience with cloud providers and managed services
  • Software development experience or the ability to code in modern scripting languages (e.g. Python, Node.js, etc) and/or popular programming languages (e.g. C, C++, C#, Java, etc)

This role will be based out of our New York City office with expectation to be in-office 3 days per week.

MongoDB’s base salary range for this role is posted below. Compensation at the time of offer is unique to each candidate and based on a variety of factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of MongoDB’s total compensation and benefits package. Other benefits for eligible employees may include: equity, participation in the employee stock purchase program, flexible paid time off, 20 weeks fully-paid gender-neutral parental leave, fertility and adoption assistance, 401(k) plan, mental health counseling, access to transgender-inclusive health insurance coverage, and health benefits offerings. Please note, the base salary range listed below and the benefits in this paragraph are only applicable to U.S.-based candidates.

$129,000$253,000 USD
