The MongoDB Professional Services (PS) department exists to support the development of our customers’ vision, accelerate customers’ time to value, and drive a multitude of customer adoption scenarios - from building new solutions to modernizing legacy applications or migrating to the cloud. Our consulting solutions ensure that organizations get the most out of MongoDB at all stages.

The Strategic Business Partner, PS Sales will partner with the VP, Services Sales to measure and help drive the success of the PS Sales Team. This role will focus on the system requirements to measure and run the business, KPIs of the business, and proactive approach to align staffing and quotas to addressable market. Responsibilities will range across a variety of strategic initiatives with the overarching goal to facilitate the success of PS Sales and drive company ARR. The role requires someone with strong analytical skills and technical knowledge who is comfortable working across multiple functional areas in a fast-paced, challenging environment.

This role can be based remotely across the United States or hybrid in one of our office locations.

Role Responsibilities

  1. Data Analysis and Reporting
    • Take ownership of PS Sales metrics such as addressable market, attach, and productivity metrics to facilitate strategic discussions and action plans
    • Design, develop, and manage reporting tools and dashboards, translating business requirements into visually appealing and insightful data visualizations
    • Design and build automated reports and dashboards to empower stakeholders to self-serve their data and analytical needs
    • Perform ad-hoc analysis to support the needs of the PS Sales organization
  2. Forecasting and Trend Analysis
    • Build out and maintain forecast dashboard(s) and predictive signings models
    • Conduct trend analysis to provide insights into past and future performance
    • Define and measure KPIs that allow the business to better understand trends and opportunities
  3. Collaboration and Alignment
    • Collaborate with key stakeholders, particularly Sales Ops, and the broader ecosystem to ensure consistent and accurate data reporting
    • Drive adoption of processes, metrics, systems and tools necessary to measure, run, and report the business
    • Contribute to the PS Sales variable compensation plan and payout calculations
    • Drive alignment and facilitate discussion around PS pricing models, with an understanding of pricing and discounting guardrails to meet profitability targets
  4. Proactive Problem Solving and Adaptability
    • Focus on continuous improvement of team efficiency.: Research and implement new tooling/processes; seek out and automate existing costly manual processes
    • Take a proactive approach to identifying issues or discrepancies in data and work to resolve them promptly
    • Comfortably operate in an environment with changing priorities and ambiguity
    • Quickly adapt to evolving business needs and new data sources

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in a business partner role (Operations, Finance, etc.)
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience supporting a Sales team within software industry, ideally PS Sales
  • 2-3 years of experience in the management and development of a team
  • Ability to query, transform and analyze raw data, draw conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations
  • Advanced spreadsheet skills with the ability to manipulate and analyze large amount of complex data
  • Direct experience with Salesforce (Salesforce Analytics Studio and Certinia is a plus)
  • Experience creating automated dashboards designed for user self-service, ideally in Salesforce or Certinia
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and set priorities with key stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail
  • Effective at communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Comfort with ambiguity and ability to work in a self-guided manner
  • Committed to contributing to a collaborative and enjoyable work environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree with a quantitative focus (Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, etc.)
  • Finance and/or Accounting experience within the software industry a strong plus

MongoDB’s base salary range for this role is posted below. Compensation at the time of offer is unique to each candidate and based on a variety of factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of MongoDB’s total compensation and benefits package. MongoDB’s base salary range for this role in the U.S. is:
$132,000$259,000 USD
