The MongoDB Documentation team is a group of writers and engineers who develop and maintain the documentation for the MongoDB product family. Our goal is to help our readers successfully use MongoDB products by providing outstanding documentation. The MongoDB Documentation team is a part of the MongoDB Product organization and is tightly integrated with the engineering teams responsible for each product. We are hiring a Lead Technical Writer to guide the creation of world-class documentation for MongoDB’s products.
The Docs team is responsible for documenting all aspects of the developer data platform including the database, query language, Atlas, Vector Search, Full-Text Search, Stream Processing, client libraries, administrative tools, connectors, and more.
You will use your leadership skills to manage and grow a talented team of writers, prioritize and plan documentation projects, and influence the strategic vision for the MongoDB docs. You will use your strong writing and technical skills to guide production of clear and consistent reference documentation, as well as tutorials on high-complexity features. Your team’s work, along with the four other MongoDB docs teams, support a large global community of new and experienced MongoDB users.
Candidates must have extensive technical writing experience and 2+ years of experience managing a team of technical writers, developer advocates, or other technical communications-focused roles. Beyond that, we are looking for someone who:
