MongoDB Technical Services Engineers use their exceptional problem solving and customer service skills, along with their deep technical experience, to advise customers and to solve their complex MongoDB problems. Technical Service Engineers are experts in the entire MongoDB ecosystem - database server, drivers, cloud and infrastructure. This also includes services such as Atlas (database as a service), or Cloud Manager (which helps customers with automation, backup and monitoring of their MongoDB systems).

We are looking to speak to candidates local to Toronto, Ontario, Canada for our hybrid working model. This involves working 8am-5pm, remotely 3 days per week and in our Toronto office 2 days per week, During the initial ramping period, typically 3-6 months, working days will be Monday to Friday.

Once considered ramped, work will transition to a permanent (either Wednesday to Sunday, or Saturday to Wednesday) work week to provide weekend coverage alongside other peers. Saturdays and Sundays are considered fully online workdays and not an on-call shift.

Due to the 24/7 nature of our support organization, certain events throughout the year will require volunteering for coverage outside one’s normal work days or work hours (i.e. regional offsites, regional holidays, etc). These are typically announced weeks in advance with a sign-up system that considers equitability.

What you need

We consider all candidates with an eye for those who are self-taught, insatiably curious, and multi-faceted.

The ideal candidates should have strong technical experience in one (or more) of the following areas

  • Experience using AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
  • Familiarity with Linux command line and monitoring tools
  • Experience in leveraging APIs to gather information and initiate actions
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues across a customer’s cloud environment
  • Understanding of database architecture and administration
  • Experience in performance tuning and benchmarking
  • Previous experience in technical support
  • Bonus points if you have experience in one or more of Go, Java, Python, Ruby, C, C++, C#, Javascript, node.js, PHP, or Perl

MongoDB’s base salary range for this role is posted below. Compensation at the time of offer is unique to each candidate and based on a variety of factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of MongoDB’s total compensation and benefits package. Other benefits for eligible employees may include: equity, participation in the employee stock purchase program, flexible paid time off, 20 weeks fully-paid gender-neutral parental leave, fertility and adoption assistance, Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) with employer match, mental health counseling, backup child and elder care, and health, dental, and vision benefits offerings. $94,000$130,000 CAD
