Who we are. . .

Pearl Health is restoring the independence and joy of practicing medicine for doctors in the United States. Our healthcare system has burdened our doctors with too much process, while removing them from what they do best: caring for those we love most. We are a team of physicians and public health experts (Stanford, Dartmouth, Harvard, Mass. General), technologists (athenahealth, Apple, Amazon, Meta, Flatiron, WalMart Health), healthcare innovators (Oscar, Aledade, VillageMD, Stellar, Arcadia) and experienced risk management professionals (CVS/Aetna, Humana, Cigna, United) who believe that primary care providers (PCPs) are the key to the United States’ future health. Pearl recently announced a strategic partnership to proliferate value-based care with Walgreens, one of the largest healthcare companies in the country. Our investors include Andreessen Horowitz, Viking Global Investors, AlleyCorp, and SV Angel.

Pearl Health helps PCPs who are overwhelmed by the demands of an aging population and the unpredictable business model inherent to Traditional Medicare. Over time, this solution will empower PCPs to provide better care to their entire patient population. We believe there is a need to bring humanism back to healthcare by giving physicians the ability to better allocate their time with patients, increasing their autonomy, creating incentives that are aligned with achieving better outcomes through clinical decision-making powered by actionable intelligence, and making risk more available and more readily optimized through an intelligent marketplace. The Center for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) is launching a new value-based care program to disrupt Traditional Medicare, and we believe that this represents an opportunity to achieve the meaningful change we envision.

The role. . .

We are searching for a Product Manager to support our data platform team, which owns and operates all core data across the Pearl data ecosystem. You will use your experience to support data platform initiatives throughout the data lifecycle, from acquisition to data ingestion, core data modeling and readiness, ensuring that internal stakeholder needs are met, and external partners are managed throughout the process.

Healthcare experience is strongly preferred, but not required - if you can understand a complex problem and love to get into the grit of defining use cases across a multi-functional product and engineering team, we would love to meet you. You are equally adept at thinking strategically and executing beautifully. You are willing to roll up your sleeves and work alongside Data Science, Engineering and the PM team in product planning and execution. You approach your work with an attitude of continuous learning, and validate your assumptions with data and feedback. Most importantly, you are passionate about driving change. To be successful in this role you will:

  • Roadmap Execution: understand the next areas of priority to focus on and support the team in prioritizing work appropriately, focusing on an iterative approach
  • Stakeholder Communication: work effectively with internal stakeholders to understand their data needs, defining requirements, supporting the communication of our existing and future data platform capabilities
  • Vendor Landscape Discovery: work with the product team to identify opportunities for vendor partnerships as we expand our data portfolio
  • Technical Understanding: work with engineers to break down projects into distinct technical next steps, communicating areas of risk across stakeholders
  • Identifying Opportunities for Improvement: Understand the team level priorities, stakeholder needs and company goals to support in creatively testing hypotheses, and rigorously evaluate alternatives
  • Team-Oriented: collaborate with CS, User Experience and Engineering in the prioritization, preparation, and execution of comprehensive data sources and models
  • Scope: initial scope will be supporting the Data Platform team, with room for growth as we build our team

Who you are. . .

  • 2-3 years of healthcare software product management experience, with a strong track record of achieving business outcomes through product delivery
  • End-to-end experience in the product life cycle, from problem definition through to general release and scalability
  • Experience working in an early stage startup, with the willingness and ability to own a product domain from the earliest stages (research, discovery, and validation) through to execution and scalability
  • Ability to grow domain expertise in the data platform product domain
  • Comfortable presenting and articulating ideas to the team, leadership, and stakeholders
  • Willingness to travel for internal company meetings and customer site visits as needed
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
