Who We Are

Pearl Health is dedicated to empowering primary care providers, health systems, and physician-led networks to succeed in the shift to value-based care. Our platform delivers the technology, financial tools, and expert services that enable practices to provide more proactive, effective care to their Medicare patients, ultimately lowering costs and improving health outcomes.

Founded in 2020, we are a team of healthcare and technology innovators backed by premier investors like Andreessen Horowitz, Viking Global Investors, and AlleyCorp. We partner with thousands of providers across 44 states to build a more sustainable future for American healthcare.

The role. . .

The Senior Design Researcher will be a key partner responsible for planning and executing a research roadmap that directly informs the development of our Pearl platform. You will run mixed-methods research, blending deep qualitative inquiry with quantitative analysis (including user engagement metrics) across exploratory, generative, and evaluative topics, to uncover actionable insights and influence decision-making.

You will be embedded alongside our customer-facing product teams, working in close collaboration with product designers, product managers, data scientists, and engineers to maintain a deep, holistic understanding of our users and their needs.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Define and Prioritize Research: Partner with your cross-functional counterparts to identify and prioritize key learning goals that align with the product roadmap and team objectives.

  • Drive Mixed-Methods Research: Design and execute a continuous stream of research (exploratory, generative, and evaluative) that balances rigor and speed, selecting the right methodology – qualitative, quantitative, or mixed – and the right approach – moderated or unmoderated – for the right questions.

  • Triangulate Data: Go beyond single-source insights. Synthesize and connect qualitative findings with quantitative data (e.g., product analytics, engagement metrics, survey data) to build a comprehensive and compelling story of the user experience.

  • Manage the Full Research Lifecycle: Independently lead all aspects of research, including study design, planning, and participant recruitment (in partnership with Customer Success), as well as execution of studies, running debriefs, analyzing findings, and synthesizing insights and product opportunities.

  • Translate Insights into Action: Move beyond the “what" to deliver the "so what" by translating complex findings into actionable, data-driven recommendations that directly influence product decision-making, design iterations, and the longer term product roadmap.

  • Champion Customers and Scale Research: Act as an advocate within your team and across the organization. Mentor and empower cross-functional partners in continuous discovery methods, frameworks, and tools to scale the impact of user insights.

Who you are. . .

  • An Experienced Researcher: You have a proven track record (5+ years) in experience design/product research or an applied social science field, with a portfolio demonstrating how your work on digital products directly informed design and product outcomes.

  • A Mixed-Methods Expert: You have mastery of a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods. You are equally comfortable conducting deep generative interviews and analyzing quantitative data (e.g., surveys, A/B test results, product analytics).

  • An Embedded Collaborator: You have demonstrable experience working in an embedded model, collaborating closely with agile/scrum teams and contributing to rapid, continuous discovery cycles.

  • A Compelling Storyteller: You are an exceptional communicator and facilitator, able to synthesize complex information from multiple sources into a clear and persuasive narrative that drives action and alignment.

  • A Research Mentor: You have proven experience mentoring and training others (e.g., product managers, designers) in research best practices, enabling teams to conduct or co-facilitate research effectively.

  • Domain-Savvy (Preferred): 3+ years of experience in healthcare or a similarly complex domain is a strong plus.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in HCI, Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, Social Sciences, or a related field.
