About Positive Development

Positive Development is the largest provider of developmental therapy for autistic children in the country. Our approach is play-based and family-centered: we work with children and coach their parents to strengthen everyday interactions at home.

We serve Medicaid and commercially insured families across markets in multiple states, and we are growing. The constraint on how many children we can reach is not demand. It is how quickly we can find and hire good clinicians.

Position Summary:

You will own full-cycle hiring for Child Development Specialists — the clinicians who work with our clients and their parents. It is a role with real reach: every hire you make is a family that starts therapy instead of waiting.

Two things shape the job.

Your markets move. This role recruits nationally, and your assigned territory may shift from quarter to quarter based on where we need capacity. You will sometimes be building a pipeline in a market new to you.

We hire for the long term. We are looking for recruiters who can find candidates genuinely drawn to this work — people who see Positive Development as somewhere to build a career rather than a stop along the way. That matters clinically as much as operationally: our model rests on the relationship between a child, their family, and a consistent therapist, so when a clinician leaves after a few weeks, that child loses ground. Practically, it means your work does not end when an offer is signed, and the honesty of your conversations with candidates matters as much as the number of conversations you have.

What success looks like

  • Hiring at least 12 Child Development Specialists per month.

  • Hires who show up on their first day excited about the work, and who are still with us months later.

  • A pipeline healthy enough that a new market assignment does not catch you flat-footed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own full-cycle recruiting for Child Development Specialist roles across your assigned markets — sourcing, screening, offer, and handoff to onboarding.

  • Source outbound. Handshake campaigns, Indeed, referrals, university and community channels. Most of your pipeline will come from candidates you found, not candidates who found us.

  • Build and hold pipeline in markets that change quarter to quarter as our capacity needs shift.

  • Screen for fit and availability, and give candidates an accurate picture of the work, the schedule, and the families — so the people who accept are the people who stay.

  • Stay with your candidates from signature to start: confirm the date, tell them what to expect on day one, and transition cleanly to onboarding.

  • Run your requisitions and candidate data in Ashby, and keep it current enough that the pipeline is readable without you in the room.

  • Partner with clinical hiring managers, and come to pipeline meetings with your own numbers.

  • Watch your funnel for where candidates fall out, and change what you are doing about it.

Requirements:

  • You have personally carried 10+ hires per month, or 100+ per year, in a role where you owned the requisition end to end.

  • Hands-on outbound sourcing experience. You can walk us through pipelines you built yourself.

  • 2+ years recruiting in healthcare, staffing, or another high-volume environment.

  • You work the funnel with data. You know your conversion rates and you adjust based on them.

  • You are self-directed enough to run a full desk across unfamiliar markets and set your own week.

Nice to have

  • Ashby, or another modern ATS you picked up quickly.

  • Handshake, campus, or community sourcing experience.

  • Recruiting for behavioral health, allied health, or entry-level clinical roles.

  • Experience at an organization that grew quickly and changed around you.

Compensation:

  • Base salary: $60,000–$65,000, depending on experience.

  • Quarterly incentive: $2,250 at goal ($9,000 annually), plus $250 for every hire above goal in a quarter. Target total cash at goal is approximately $71,500.

  • The incentive pays on hires who start and stay, so it reflects the same outcome the clinical model depends on.

Benefits:

  • Medical, Dental, Vision insurance

  • Amazon Medical One

  • 401k with Employer Match

  • Paid Time Off

  • Paid Sick Leave

  • Paid Holidays

  • Paid Parental Leave

  • Pet Insurance

  • Life & Disability Insurance

  • Employer-paid Life & Disability Insurance

  • Technology Stipend

  • Referral Bonus
