The Team
The objective of the Tax team is to ensure high tax data accuracy in a timely manner as well as be responsible for Printify’s statutory and tax compliance. We partner with product and operational teams to provide them with critical tax information necessary for making decisions. As a member of this team, you will be responsible for assisting business growth from the tax perspective.
The Role
Printify is seeking an experienced and driven Tax Manager to join our growing team. The Tax Manager will be responsible for driving projects related to business expansion into other regions, support various growth initiatives from the tax perspective as well as oversee efficient and timely indirect corporate income tax reporting at Printify. This role will work closely with accounting, reporting and other business and product teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate filing of all indirect/ corporate income tax returns and compliance-related requirements.
  • Tax Strategy & Planning: Develop and implement tax-saving strategies for company/its merchants, as well as develop initiatives in line with the company’s business objectives keeping a merchant centric approach.
  • Research & Analysis: Stay updated on changes in indirect/corporate tax regulations and assess their impact on the organisation. Recommend appropriate actions or strategies in response.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess and manage potential indirect/corporate tax risks. Implement preventive measures to mitigate potential exposure.
  • Audit & Assessment: Manage and respond to any tax audits, disputes or inquiries by tax authorities. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders during these processes.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments like finance, legal, product and operations to ensure accurate tax treatment of transactions and business initiatives. Play a crucial role in collaboration with product teams in planning and implementing product solutions related to taxation.
  • Reconciliation & Reporting: Reconcile tax accounts monthly or as required and report on any discrepancies. Prepare relevant tax reports for management.
  • Unlock Geo expansion from Tax perspective / Advisory Role: Provide guidance to business units on indirect/ corporate income tax implications of business strategies, growth programs and other initiatives.
  • Training & Development: Educate internal and external stakeholders about corporate/indirect tax matters and their implications. This could include developing training sessions or written guidance for relevant departments.
  • Vendor & Technology Management: Manage relationships with external consultants and service providers. Additionally, oversee the integration and performance of tax-related IT systems.
  • Process Improvement: Continually assess and enhance tax processes and controls to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Global Outlook: As the company operates in multiple jurisdictions, understanding the global implications of corporate income/ indirect taxes and ensuring the organisation remains compliant in all regions.
  • Team Leadership: Depending on the size of the organisation, lead, mentor and manage the tax team.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate income/indirect tax with a focus on VAT, GST, sales tax, excise duties or similar taxes.
  • Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of corporate/indirect tax regulations and how they apply to the business; advanced proficiency in financial software (Excel, Google Sheets).
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse complex tax scenarios, interpret legislation and identify potential risks or opportunities.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders and drive accountability.
  • Project Management: Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Adaptability: Self-driven, resilient, able to quickly adapt and stay organised in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to Detail: Detail-oriented ensuring accurate calculations, reporting and compliance with tax regulations.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to navigate complex tax issues and find effective solutions.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience within the tech or e-commerce industry or large companies with complex operations across multiple jurisdictions;
  • MBA or advanced degree is a plus;
  • Work experience with Vertex tax engine will be considered as an advantage.
