About the Role
We’re looking for a detail-oriented Accountant with 4–6 years of experience to take ownership of core accounting operations across multiple business units. This role partners closely with our US-based Director of Finance and Controller, but operates with meaningful independence and accountability.
You’ll own key components of the month-end close, expense management infrastructure, and financial reporting workflows. Beyond executing established processes, you’ll improve them—identifying inefficiencies, strengthening controls, and increasing visibility across business units.
This role is ideal for someone who understands how accounting operations power strategic finance. You’ll ensure accurate, timely reporting while helping build the scalable financial foundation required in an acquisitive, multi-entity SaaS environment.
You’ll work hands-on in QuickBooks Online, Ramp, Google Sheets, and related systems. We’re looking for someone who doesn’t just follow process—but understands why it exists and improves it.
What You'll Do Daily

Month-End Close Ownership (40–50%)

  • Own assigned portions of the monthly close across multiple entities
  • Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
  • Analyze account balances and proactively investigate discrepancies
  • Coordinate intercompany and cross-BU transactions
  • Ensure reconciliations are completed accurately and on schedule prior to Controller review
  • Identify opportunities to reduce close timelines and improve controls

Expense Management & Controls (25–30%)

  • Oversee bi-weekly expense recording and categorization across systems
  • Review expense coding for accuracy and consistency across BUs
  • Monitor trends and flag anomalies or policy issues proactively
  • Strengthen documentation and receipt compliance processes
  • Improve workflows between QuickBooks, Ramp, and other platforms

Financial Reporting & Data Integrity (20–30%)

  • Maintain and update reporting dashboards, forecast models, and BU templates
  • Ensure data integrity between accounting system and reporting outputs
  • Support management and board reporting through accurate data compilation
  • Contribute variance explanations and reporting commentary as needed
  • Document processes and improve cross-functional data workflows

What Success Looks Like

  • In Month 1–2: You independently manage assigned reconciliations and close tasks with minimal oversight
  • You demonstrate strong understanding of multi-entity transaction flows
  • You proactively identify minor process improvements
  • In Month 3–6: Close timelines improve due to your ownership and proactive issue resolution
  • Expense tracking is more structured and insightful
  • You identify and resolve discrepancies before leadership review
  • Cross-BU transactions are clean, consistent, and well-documented
  • In Month 6–12: You operate as a reliable owner of major close components
  • Reporting cycles run smoothly with minimal rework
  • You contribute meaningful variance insights and analytical support
  • You begin mentoring or reviewing work for more junior team members (if applicable)

Essential Requirements

  • 4–6 years of progressive accounting or financial operations experience
  • Strong month-end close experience, including journal entries and reconciliations
  • Experience working in multi-entity or multi-business-unit environments
  • Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills (pivot tables, lookups, data modeling, reconciliation workflows)
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP fundamentals
  • Demonstrated ability to manage deadlines independently
  • Clear written English communication for async collaboration
  • Availability for 4–5 hours overlap with US Eastern Time

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience in SaaS, technology, or e-commerce environments
  • Familiarity with expense management platforms (Ramp, Expensify, Divvy, etc.)
  • Experience improving accounting processes or shortening close cycles
  • Exposure to audit preparation or financial controls documentation
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

What Makes You An Ideal Fit

  • You take ownership, not just tasks. You don’t just complete reconciliations—you understand what they mean and why they matter.
  • You think in systems. When something feels inefficient or fragile, you propose a better way.
  • You anticipate issues. You catch discrepancies before they become problems.
  • You balance independence with collaboration. You can run your lane confidently while partnering effectively across time zones.
  • You want to deepen your expertise. You’re motivated to become excellent at multi-entity SaaS financial operations and expand into higher-level financial insight over time.
