About The Role

We are looking for an experienced and assertive Business Intelligence Manager to help Rhino make smarter, faster decisions through data. This is a role with meaningful ownership from day one: you will work directly with our Director of Operations and VP of Finance & Operations to scope and answer key business questions, challenge our assumptions, as well as build the models and analyses that power how we run the company.

You will partner closely with our BI Engineers, validating data, running analyses, dashboards, and models that drive decisions across go-to-market, finance, customer success, and operations. This role sits at the intersection of analytical rigor and business judgment. You will need to understand both what the data says and why it matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Director of Operations and VP of Finance & Operations to translate business questions into structured analytical problems, and deliver clear, actionable answers to all key stakeholders in Commercial, Customer Solutions, Product, & Engineering.
  • Create product specifications/business requirements for analytics and AI needs of the company.
  • Build and maintain reporting models in our data environment, producing dashboards and analyses that are reliable, reproducible, and well-documented.
  • Identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities in operational and financial data, and proactively surface insights to stakeholders.
  • Co-own KPI and metric definitions with the BI Engineers, ensuring business logic is correctly reflected in the technical infrastructure (BI Manager owns metric definition, BI Engineers owns how it's built).
  • Validate and refine outputs from AI-assisted analytics tools (e.g., LLM-based data Q&A) before they reach stakeholders.
  • Support recurring reporting cycles (weekly, monthly, and quarterly) with accurate, timely outputs that enable leadership to make informed decisions.
  • Assist in the development of KPI frameworks and metric definitions that create consistency in how Rhino measures performance across the business.
  • Prepare clear, concise presentations and written summaries that communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders.

Required Skills

  • 7+ years of experience in a business intelligence, data analytics, or comparable analytical role.
  • Proficiency in SQL; comfortable writing queries against structured data warehouses to build models and answer ad hoc questions.
  • Experience with a BI or visualization tool (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Mode, Metabase, or similar).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead requirements gathering to help stakeholders frame a business question, identify the right data, and draw sound conclusions.
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills; able to explain quantitative findings to non-technical audiences.
  • High attention to detail and comfort working with ambiguous, evolving data environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent requests and prioritize effectively in a fast-moving company.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with dbt or similar data transformation frameworks.
  • Familiarity with financial or operational metrics in a SaaS or technology company (ARR, NRR, CAC, payback period, headcount planning).
  • Exposure to Python for analysis and light data manipulation.
  • Experience working in an early-stage or high-growth technology company.
  • Experience defining standards in an early BI function.
  • Degree in a quantitative field: economics, statistics, mathematics, computer science, or engineering.
