About us
Transmutex is a Geneva-based start-up founded in 2019. We aim at reinventing nuclear energy by using an accelerator-driven system (ADS) to optimize the transmutation of long-lived nuclear waste. The innovative combination of particle accelerators and fuel, based on existing long-lived radioactive waste, will let us develop energy process that will be intrinsically safe, will reduce the stockpile of long-lived waste, is resistant to proliferation, and will be cost competitive.
About the role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Supply Chain & Procurement Officer to strengthen our supplier network and ensure efficient, cost-effective, and reliable sourcing for our projects. This role combines strategic market insight with hands-on supplier engagement, contract management, and operational follow-up. The successful candidate will play a key role in building resilient supply chains that support the company’s mission in clean energy innovation.
Main Responsibilities
Market Intelligence & Supplier Engagement
· Conduct market surveys and analysis to identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers that meet the company’s technical and strategic needs.
· Initiate and manage relationships with suppliers across multiple geographies and technology domains.
· Monitor industry trends, risks, and opportunities to optimize procurement strategies.
Procurement & Contract Management
· Lead procurement activities, including request for proposals (RFPs), tendering, bid evaluation, and selection.
· Negotiate commercial terms, contracts, and supply agreements to secure best value and minimize risks.
· Ensure proper follow-up and compliance with contractual obligations, delivery schedules, and performance metrics.
· Collaborate with internal technical and legal teams to align procurement processes with project requirements.
Supply Chain Operations & Optimization
· Develop and maintain supplier databases and performance records.
· Implement processes to ensure transparency, traceability, and accountability across the supply chain.
· Identify and mitigate supply chain risks to support project resilience and cost control.
· Contribute to sustainability and ethical sourcing initiatives in line with company values.
Qualifications and professional achievements
The candidates we are looking for must have:
· Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, engineering, procurement, business administration, or related field.
· 5+ years of professional experience in procurement, supply chain, or vendor management, ideally in engineering, energy, or high-technology sectors.
· Strong track record in contract negotiation and supplier relationship management.
· Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Fluency in English; knowledge of another language (FR, IT, DE) is an asset.
Additionally, it will be an advantage if you have:
· Experience in particle accelerators, nuclear, energy, or other highly regulated industries.
· Knowledge of international supply chain compliance standards.
· Additional language skills for working with global suppliers.
· Certification in supply chain/procurement (e.g., CIPS, CPSM, APICS).
Terms And Conditions
Start date: As soon as possible, ideally January 2026
Location: Vernier, GE, Switzerland
Contract: Full-time, permanent employment contract
Package: We offer competitive remuneration and social security, accident/disability insurance and pension plans; one day per week work from home, as well as five weeks paid vacation.
