What you will do
We are looking for a Junior Data Engineer who is passionate about scalable data architectures, complex data transformations, and handling large data streams on the fly, and wants to see their work translated into real life applications that impact 100.000’s of hotels worldwide.
Where you will have impact
- Research and test Data processing methodologies, tools and frameworks.
- Implement streaming and batch data processing pipelines.
- Clean, analyse and extract datasets from external sources.
- Guarantee data integrity and quality by extending our logging, monitoring and outlier detection systems.
- Deploy and monitor applications in a reproducible and scalable way.
- Experiment, think about and take ownership of a piece of our tech stack/infrastructure and find ways to improve it.
- Provide support to your team members and other teams in the company. We have a very open and flat structure and have a very short feedback loop on both internal and customer questions.
- You will be at the forefront of our AI evolution, helping to embed intelligence into our platform. You’ll not only build AI features for our customers but also champion an AI-first development culture within the engineering team.
About our team
The Data Engineering team is the gatekeeper of Lighthouse's vast datasets. Our mission is to reliably transform, integrate, and store the numerous data sources that power our BI products, from web-scraped data to direct API integrations. We handle a staggering amount of information—our main dataset holds over 3 trillion hotel rates, and we process over 100TB of data daily. You'll join a highly talented and collaborative group of 8 data engineers.

Who you are
- Bachelor or Master degree in a software engineering field.
- Affinity in working with data.

- You have experience with writing Python and SQL code.
- You are a forward-thinking builder who views AI as a core component of modern architecture. You have a proven interest (or experience) in working with LLMs, agentic workflows, or AI-assisted coding tools to ship higher-quality code, faster.
- Fluent in English.

- Experience with any cloud platform.
- Good data engineering practices, e.g. data checking and analysis, logging, re-running transformations, visualization skills.
