About Upwage
Upwage is a fast-growing startup that helps employers hire better talent and helps candidates find jobs they love. Our flagship product makes screening faster, fairer, and more enjoyable, so recruiters spend less time buried in résumés and more time connecting with people.
AI is at the core of what we build, but our philosophy is that it should eliminate busywork, surface overlooked talent, and reduce bias—not replace human conversations.
As we enter our next stage of growth, we’re looking for teammates who are passionate about building a fairer, more human future of hiring.
Role Overview
We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager to accelerate feature development and keep delivery on track, while also connecting the dots between execution and strategy. You won’t be tasked with setting overall product strategy, but you’ll play a critical role in understanding how customer problems and tactical solutions ladder up to our long-term goals. This role is ideal for someone who can focus on executional excellence while serving as a strategic thought partner to leadership.
What You’ll Do
- Drive cross-team collaboration: Partner with engineers, designers, CSMs, and leadership to translate prototypes and high-level requirements into actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Keep delivery on track: Own sprint planning, backlog grooming, release timelines, daily standups, and ad hoc syncs to ensure features ship on time and at high quality.
- Connect execution to strategy: Understand how solving specific customer problems affects the broader product direction; highlight trade-offs and surface decision points to leadership when strategy may need to shift.
- Prioritize effectively: Balance customer needs, business impact, and technical constraints to make trade-offs and sequence work efficiently.
- Use data to improve outcomes: Monitor product performance, analyze usage patterns, and use insights to refine features and guide continuous improvement.
- Maintain clear workflows: Manage tickets and tasks across tools like Jira, BigAmp, Trello, BaseCamp, or Linear to keep engineering work organized and visible.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager leading complex software products.
- Proven ability to combine strategic awareness with hands-on execution.
- Strong experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Proficiency with development management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, BaseCamp, Linear).
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to clearly connect day-to-day execution with product strategy, surfacing decision points when needed.
- Solid technical literacy (understanding APIs, LLMs, data structures, etc. Engineering background not required).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in talent acquisition, HR, or workforce-related tech.
- Background in B2B enterprise SaaS.
- Experience with self-service or product-led growth (PLG) products.
- Experience building AI/LLM-powered products.
- Experience working in a startup environment, preferably in high-growth and fast-paced settings.
