About the Role

What’s the mission you’ll drive

Drive the vision and execution of Addi's lending product experience, ensuring a seamless, intuitive, and trustworthy journey for every user while leading, growing, and mentoring a world-class design team to deliver measurable business outcomes from increasing transaction rates to improving customer satisfaction by blending data-driven insights with a deep sense of empathy and customer clarity.

What you will do

  • Improve the clarity of core lending flows (e.g., application, repayment) to reduce customer support tickets related to clarity and increase new user transaction rates as measured by product analytics.

  • Lead the design and implementation of trust-building patterns and user education flows to increase the overall product Net Promoter Score (NPS) and improve customer satisfaction scores (CSAT) in key areas.

  • Design and launch a comprehensive loyalty program and engagement strategy that increases user retention and grows monthly active users (MAU).

  • Establish a fully adopted and documented Design System that increases the team's design-to-development handoff efficiency and reduces the time-to-market for new features.

What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience leading design teams

    • 5-8 years of experience in product design, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role in the Fintech or banking industry.

    • Proven track record of managing and scaling a design team, including experience with recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and career pathing.

    • Translates business objectives into a clear design strategy and roadmap.

    • Able to define the long-term vision for the product's user experience, ensuring the team's efforts are always aligned with company priorities, and championing a customer-first approach.

    • Actively coaches and empowers team members to achieve their full potential.

    • Provides regular, constructive feedback, identify growth opportunities for each designer, and foster an environment of continuous learning and psychological safety.

  • Have a solid Design Execution & Craft Excellence

    • Strong UX/UI craft across platforms with a systemic, scalable approach.

    • Design systems proficiency and ability to define or evolve components and principles.

    • User-centered mindset, with deep understanding of user journeys, pain points, and motivations.

    • Fluency in prototyping, interaction design, and design documentation.

  • Demonstrates outstanding Cross-Functional Influence & Communication skills

    • Builds strong, collaborative relationships with product, engineering, marketing, and leadership teams.

    • Articulates the value of design, influencing key product decisions, and ensuring design is a strategic partner, not just a service function.

    • Brings others along, builds trust across disciplines, handles conflicts gracefully.

    • confident communicator in leadership settings, capable of representing the design org.

  • Possesses a solid Data-Informed Decision Making capability

    • Guides the team to use quantitative and qualitative data to validate design hypotheses and measure success.

    • Establishes a culture of A/B testing, user analytics review, and research-based design to move beyond subjective opinions.

    • Strategic product thinking: ability to shape design direction based on product goals and user needs.

  • Shows exceptional Execution and Accountability

    • Holds the team and themselves accountable for delivering high-quality, impactful results on time.

How the hiring process looks like

  • Step 1: People Interview (30 min)

    A conversation with a recruiter to get to know you, your experience, and what you're looking for. We’ll also share more about Addi, our culture, and the role.

  • Step 2: Initial Interview (45 min)

    A more in-depth conversation with the hiring manager, where we explore your skills, experience, and problem-solving approach. We want to understand how you think and work.

  • Step 3: Deep Dive interview (45 min)

    You'll meet future colleagues and cross-functional team members to get a feel for how we work together. We’re looking for strong contributors and cultural fits, so bring your questions, too!

  • Step 4: Business Case (3-5 Days)

    You may receive a real-world challenge or case study to complete. This is a chance to showcase your expertise and how you approach key problems relevant to the role.

  • Step 5: Product Deep Dive Interview (30 min)

    A conversation with your Product Manager to discuss product strategy, technical trade-offs, and collaboration. Be ready to showcase how your design decisions and product delivery align with business and user needs.

  • Step 6: Co-Founder Interview (30 min)

    If there’s a strong match, you’ll have a final conversation with our Founder to align on expectations, cultural fit and ensure mutual excitement. From there, we’ll move quickly to an offer and discuss next steps.
