Servicing Finance at Valon

The Servicing Finance Team at Valon is responsible for executing the reporting of mortgage data and the movement of funds to both agency and non-agency investors. We are a team of mortgage and technology professionals working side by side to create automation and efficiency using Valon’s proprietary servicing system. We strive to shape a modernized servicing system while maintaining a strong level of precision in order to meet the requirements and guidelines of our investors.

About the Role

As an Assistant Director within the broader Servicing Financing team, you will lead a team of three and manage processes and procedures related to claims, invoice management, corporate advances, credit reporting, and default reporting. We’re looking for a self-starter with strong project management skills to assist with and advise on the implementation of processes for reconciliation and recovery that comply with contractual obligations, Valon policies, and regulatory guidelines. In this highly cross-functional role, you will also work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure reporting requirements and deadlines are met.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage in-depth knowledge of investor system logic to recover and track reimbursable expenses per applicable guidelines and milestones
  • Work closely with Product and Engineering on system requirements to automate and manage processes related to corporate advance, invoice management, credit reporting, default reporting
  • Review and reconcile data and reports from various servicing platforms to convert to the applicable format for proprietary system ingestion
  • Work collaboratively to coordinate with internal and external business partners
  • Work with prior servicers and internal departments to map unpaid corporate advances to the system of record for all acquisitions
  • Facilitate invoice management and audits to ensure receipt of all invoices for outstanding corporate advances and fees
  • Manage monetary transactions to allow boarding of corporate advances and removal of corporate advances from the servicing platform upon transfer
  • Manage MI Claims based on GSE requirements
  • Facilitate credit reporting to credit bureaus

Ideal Background

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in Cashiering, Corporate Advance Management, or Default Accounting
  • Experience developing and managing complex processes with multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Product and Engineering teams
  • Prior experience as a player-coach people manager
  • Familiarity with Excel or Google Sheets

This Base Compensation pay range applies to our New York City located staff and may differ according to location.
