Loan Administration at Valon

The Loan Administration team at Valon powers our operations and ensures we continue to run smoothly. We onboard loans, handle insurance, process payments, and offer a first-class experience to Valon's homeowners from behind the scenes.

About the Role

The Mortgage Insurance Specialist will be responsible for paying off mortgage insurance premiums for our escrowed accounts in a timely and accurate manner. This person will also review and process borrower-requested mortgage insurance termination requests and scheduled auto-terminations.

Responsibilities

  • Update mortgage insurance streams to ensure accurate records are maintained.
  • Process monthly MI carrier disbursements on or before the due/penalty date.
  • Identify and resolve mortgage insurance exceptions.
  • Process all borrower-requested MI termination requests timely to ensure cancellation requirements are met.
  • Order evaluation BPOs, when necessary.
  • Process MI auto-terminations in a timely manner.
  • Process MI refunds within compliance timelines.
  • Research and resolve mortgage insurance issues.
  • Ensure compliance with all GSE investor and regulatory requirements.
  • Update and annotate all actions/follow-ups processed on loans in all appropriate systems.

Ideal Background

  • 2+ years of mortgage servicing, mortgage insurance, or escrow experience.
  • Previous experience with Google Suite.
  • Previous experience with mortgage servicing software or other financial technology tools.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify data discrepancies and complete root cause analyses.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 1+ year(s) of mortgage servicing, mortgage insurance, or escrow experience.
  • Previous experience with managing documents and record-keeping.
  • Previous customer service experience in financial services.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
