Loan Administration at Valon

The Loan Administration team powers all of the operations required to keep Valon running smoothly. From onboarding loans to handling insurance and processing payments, the Loan Administration team ensures that homeowners are continuing to get a first-class experience with Valon, all from behind the scenes.

About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and success-driven Senior Property Tax Specialist who will focus on taxes but can also navigate through multiple facets of the escrow sector of a fast-growing technology and operations-focused company. This role is responsible for the timely disbursement of property tax payments. We are a fast-growing company that takes pride in rewarding our top performers with advancement opportunities. Responsibilities

  • Execute and problem-solve in day-to-day operations for the servicing business
  • Analyzes escrow sufficiency to ensure escrowed funds are sufficient to make required payments
  • Oversee the movement of check/wire funds relating to tax to ensure timely payment of escrow line items
  • Ensure timely procurement and accurate processing of property tax refunds
  • Process tax payments in a timely manner to avoid incurring interest or penalties.
  • Able to handle complex tax inquiries and executive office complaints
  • Monitor and drive resolution for any delinquent taxes in the loan portfolio
  • Review control reports to ensure compliance with state, regulatory, and investor guidelines
  • Liaise between all third-party vendors and ensure escalations are responded to timely and accurately
  • Able to meet strict deadlines, sometimes in high-pressure situations
  • Communication with the homeowners, tax vendor, taxing authorities, and title companies via email/phone
  • Lead other escrow responsibilities and projects as assigned by management
  • Provide insightful feedback on product and process opportunities.
  • Acts as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for other members of the team
  • Update tax lines in the system of record to maintain accurate records
  • Requests tax bills, tracks critical dates and follows up in a timely manner
  • Experience handling delinquent, non-escrowed, property taxes

Ideal Background

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Freddie Mac or Fannie Mae servicing experience preferred

Minimum Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience with property taxes
  • Excellent critical thinking and logical reasoning abilities
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to solve business problems and handle change management in a fast-paced environment
  • Outstanding telephone and written communication skills
  • Excellent reasoning and research skills, ability to see the “bigger picture” and manage the details
  • A solid work ethic, a positive attitude, and strong attention to detail
  • The ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision
